Butamirate citrate
Indications/Uses
Symptomatic treatment of cough of various origins.
Dosage/Direction for Use
SR tab Adult 1 tab tid (at least 8 hr-interval). Max: 150 mg/day. Adolescents >12 yr 1 tab bid. Max: 100 mg/day. Syr Adult 15 mL qid. Max: 60 mL/day. Adolescents >12 yr 15 mL tid. Max: 45 mL/day. Childn 6-12 yr 10 mL tid. Max: 30 mL/day, 3-6 yr 5 mL tid. Max: 15 mL/day.
Administration
May be taken with or without food. SR tab: Swallow whole.
Special Precautions
Avoid simultaneous administration of expectorants. Hereditary fructose intolerance. Minor influence on the ability to drive & use machines. Pregnancy & lactation. Syr: Contains ethanol.
Adverse Reactions
Rarely, somnolence, itchy skin rashes, nausea, diarrhea.
Drug Interactions
Avoid taking simultaneously w/ other cough medicines.
